ARWEO has been working for the last 17 years in the election and has expertise in the area of election observation & electoral reforms, parliamentary monitoring, research, surveys, advocacy, voter awareness, and media-related activities. ARWEO’s goals, vision, and mission include elections working for democracy, and dedicated to the promotion of the democratic process in Afghanistan. Since its establishment, ARWEO has remained one of the key Parliamentary monitoring entities among Afghan civil Society organizations as well as an active domestic elections observer organization with a considerable presence to have observed run-off in the presidential elections of 2014.

It is strengthening the Youth & Women political and Electoral Participation project funded by CCI that covers 3 regional zones including 12 remote districts, and Strengthening Afghan Women’s Political Rights in Elections funded by the Canadian Embassy in 2 provinces. ARWEO has also maintained a robust communication and relationship with MPs, provincial councils’ members, respective government agencies, related CSOs, and constituents through networking, individual and group meetings, conduct of several consultation workshops, conferences, and town halls at the national and local levels and monitoring of plenary and committee sessions of parliament. These connections and networking can help ARWEO embark on future partnerships, effective programs, and advocacy efforts.
