Media, Cultural and Recreation Activities
ARWEO arranges different sporting activities for both able-bodied people and persons with disabilities. The media section of ARWEO produces television dramas to be broadcast on different TV and Radio channels in Afghanistan. ARWEO covers the following set of activities in media, culture, and recreation:
- Production of Television dramas that focus on the promotion of human rights, women’s rights, and rights of persons with disabilities.
- Organizing roundtable meetings on radio and television channels to discuss various problems and challenges that the local communities are facing.
- Production of the quarterly magazine (Daley-The gift) that is also considered a useful tool to inform people of the rights and responsibilities of different community groups including the government
- Encouragement of educated youth to write articles that will be published in the Daley magazine.
- Arrangement of sporting activities that include Football, Volleyball, Wheelchair Basketball, and Cricket for both able bodied people and persons with disabilities.
- Organizing a bicycle race for persons with disabilities on the 3rd of December each year, that is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities
- Organizing of debates, and poetry sessions to encourage the youth of the country.
