Civic Education

ARWEO’s civic education programs aim to raise public awareness within local Afghan communities regarding key civic issues, thereby fostering a better understanding of these matters and encouraging greater participation in and support for the Afghan government. ARWEO offers a civic education curriculum covering the following topics: the Afghan government, its three branches, and their respective powers and duties; human rights—specifically the rights of women and persons with disabilities; the parliament, the election of representatives, and their functions; the rights and responsibilities of Afghan citizens; elections, the power of the vote, and its significance; democracy from an Islamic perspective; peace and stability; and education for all.
